A seven-run seventh stalled for Dos Pueblos on Thursday as the Chargers fell 8-7 to Cabrillo in a San Luis Obispo Tournament game.
The Chargers were held scoreless through six innings before exploding for seven runs – six unearned – in their final at-bat.
Dustin Demeter and Dylan Rohde both drove in two runs while Gabe Speier and Brian Cho recorded multi-hit games.
Cabrillo’s Ricardo Espinosa earned the win in a complete-game performance. The senior threw first-pitch strikes to 22 of the 32 batters he faced.
The Conquistadores took their bid lead thanks to a six-run second inning. The top of their lineup was effective as Michael Woodard and Cole Osborne collectively were 4-for-5 with four runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI. Dalton Pacheco was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI.
