Mackenzie Eccles and Laura Wyatt posted an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles on Thursday, lifting SBCC to a 5-4 WSC women’s tennis triumph over Bakersfield at Pershing Park.
Bruna Magalhes, a freshman from Brazil, won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for the Vaqueros (3-1, 2-0). SBCC is 3-0 at home this year and 14-2 over the last two-plus seasons.
Other singles winners for Santa Barbara were Nadya Bravo, Precious Ncube and Wyatt.
SBCC travels to Glendale on Tuesday.
