The No. 3 doubles team of Soufiane El Mhamd and Marius Moelsgaard pulled out a dramatic 9-7 victory to lift the SBCC men’s tennis team to a 5-4 nonconference win over Cerritos on Friday at Pershing Park.
“The match went the distance with many deuces over the final 4 games,” said SBCC coach Lance Kronberg.
The teams split the six singles sets. Fabian Lundberg and Logan LIddell won at No. 1 doubles to give the Vaqueros a 4-3 lead. But Cerritos evened the score with an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
Lundberg, Edurardo Baccini and El Mhambi won singles matches for SBCC, which is 1-1 on the season.
