Laguna Blanca’s boys tennis team won all nine sets it played in Wednesday’s 12-6 victory over Orcutt Academy to start the season.
Ben Furukawa, Tristan Prinz and Philip Hicks earned three points each for the Owls with three-set sweeps. Hicks won 18 of 20 games.
“Because of other sports we’ve only practiced altogether once, but we’ve got some talent and a lot of returning players so things have been falling into place nicely so far,” reported Owls head coach Trevor Thorpe.
Laguna Blanca’s next test is Rio Mesa on the following Wednesday.
