Laguna Blanca’s boys tennis team held off Rio Mesa on Wednesday in a match decided on total games after a 9-9 tie.
The Owls earned the victory by a 75-73 margin.
Eddie Conk and Benji Sorensen teamed to win three crucial sets in doubles 6-2, 6-4, 6-2.
The Owls won five sets in singles with Ben Furukawa and Tristan Prinz recording two wins each.
Laguna Blanca needed to win four of the final six sets to force the tie. Down 8-9, Prinz came through in the clutch and came-from-behind to win his final set 7-5.
The result is a turn-around from the year before when Rio Mesa won 13-5.
