Dos Pueblos and Westlake battled down to the wire, and the visiting Warriors won the last two doubles sets to hand the Chargers a 10-8 loss in a non-league boys tennis match.
Westlake’s No. 1 team of Matt Hoisch-Sumant Iyer edged out Chargers Caleb Frranzen-Alex Yang, who had lost only three games before the third round. Andrew Tufenkian and Sanad Shabbar took their set to a tiebreaker before falling.
DP’s No. 1 doubles team of Mason Casady and Greg Steigerwald lost only four games in sweeping their three sets.
In singles, Patrick Corpuz won two of three sets for the Chargers (1-2).
DP’s next match is next Tuesday at Santa Ynez.
