Carpinteria’s boys tennis team won its first match of the season on Wednesday in a 12-6 victory over Villanova.
Jonathon Cleek and Ricky Zermeno swept their three sets in doubles for the Warriors.
In singles, Collin Nathanson contributed two wins in his first singles appearance of the season. Ben Murray also won two of three singles sets for Carpinteria.
The Warriors had lost their first three matches of the season.
“We definitely had more energy and played much stronger
today,” said Warriors head coach CHarles Bryant. “I was pleased with the effort the boys showed and hopefully it will start to carry over into next week.”
