SBCC won its first game at the San Diego City Invitational softball tournament on Saturday.
The Vaqueros defeated Barstow 5-2 behind the pitching of Victoria Lucido.
Sierra Lujano ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to pace the offense. Natalie Orosco doubled in two runs and Lucido also had a double.
The Vaqueros didn’t commit an error.
In its second game, SBCC lost to Rio Hondo 8-4 on an international tiebreaker.
Orosco homered to spark a four-run rally in the seventh inning to tie the score. In the eighth, Rio Hondo capitalized on an error and scored four runs.
Lucido was named to the all-tournament team.
SBCC is 2-5.
