SBCC’s softball team suffered a pair of losses at the San Diego City Tournament on Friday. The Vaqueros fell 5-1 against College of the Desert and 9-2 against Grossmont.
SBCC scored its only run in the first game on a RBI single by Sammy Cabada in the fifth inning. She drove in Sierra Luijano, who reached base on an error.
The Vaqueros hurt themselves with seven errors in the field.
Shannon Kelly hit a run-scoring double and Cabada followed with a RBI single for SBCC’s runs in the second inning.
Danielle DeCastro made several diving catches in left field for SBCC.
