L.A. Mission scored nine runs in the first three innings on Tuesday and went on to beat SBCC 9-1 in a five-inning softball game in Sylmar.
The Eagles (5-3) got a grand slam from Stephanie Orosco and scored five times in the first inning to chase starter Alexandra Abbott.
Sierra Lujano went 2-2 for the Vaqueros (1-2) and Danielle DeCastro drove in the only run with an RBI single in the third.
SBCC opens play in the San Diego City Invitational on Friday, taking on Desert at 1 p.m. and Grossmont at 3 p.m.
