PRE-GAME INTRO – In the final game of the Channel League season, the top two teams meet in Santa Barbara High’s J.R. Richards Gymnasium.
The Dons hold a 8-3 record while visiting Dos Pueblos is 7-4. San Marcos, also 7-4, is playing Buena tonight.
The Dons and Chargers have met twice already this season, with each team winning on the other’s home floor.

3:00 REMAINING IN GAME – It’s officially trash time with only a couple of starters still on the court. Santa Barbara leads 54-32.
5:23 REMAINING IN GAME – Up 53-26, the Dons have begun to go to their bench and extend their rotation. Into the game for the first time are Kris Mirkin, Cody Henderson, Isaiah Tapia and Ryan del Campo.
THIRD QUARTER
END OF QUARTER – Much to their crowd’s delight, the Dons finish the period by scoring four points in the final three seconds after a bucket, then a steal on the inbounds and another quick bucket. Dons lead 48-26.
1:33 REMAINING IN THIRD – Dos Pueblos shows some life coming out of a timeout by scoring five straight. A mini 9-2 run has Dos Pueblos trailing now 38-26.
3:12 REMAINING IN PERIOD – A fast break layup by Matt Wagonhurst pushes Santa Barbara’s lead to 36-17. The Dons have outscored the Chargers 12-2 to start the second half.
4:20 REMAINING IN THIRD QUARTER – Gerry Perez breaks Dos Pueblos’ second half drought with a pair of free throws. Chargers still face a 31-17 deficit.
5:21 REMAINING IN THIRD PERIOD – Santa Barbara scores the first seven points of the half to build on their lead. It’s now 31-15. Jeff Paschke, Emilio Gonzalez and Jack Baker have all knocked down field goals already in the quarter.
SECOND QUARTER
END OF FIRST HALF – Dos Pueblos trails by nine at the halftime break after falling behind by as many as 12. Emilio Gonzalez leads all scorers with eight points. Dos Pueblos was led by Zach Shugart’s six points. The Chargers scored just 16 points in Tuesday’s first half versus Ventura and won.
4:55 REMAINING IN HALF – Five quick points from the Dons gives them their largest lead of the game at 20-10. Jack Baker scored on a reverse layup on a fastbreak, followed by a three-point play by Jeff Paschke.
5:54 REMAINING IN FIRST HALF – Zachary Shugart drains two free throws for his fifth and sixth points to make the score 15-10. More than half of DP’s point have come from the free throw line so far.
FIRST QUARTER
END OF QUARTER – Dons hold a 12-8 advantage after the first period in front of a large crowd filling the gym to near capacity.
1:22 REMAINING IN QUARTER – Brendan Fay just knocked down the game’s first 3-pointer to push the Dons lead to 12-6. Dos Pueblos calls timeout.
