Gabby Koepenick blasted Villanova with four goals in Tuesday’s 5-0 Frontier League win for Bishop Diego’s girls soccer team.
Lauren Underwood scored the Cardinals’ first goal in the 17th minute before Koepenick did her damage. Hanna Brand assisted on the first two goals as Bishop Diego took a 3-0 lead by halftime.
“We worked as a team today and finished our chances,” said Cardinals head coach Tessa Binkley. “We finally executed what we have been working on in practice.”
The result leaves Bishop Diego with a 6-3 record in league play. A victory over Nordhoff on Thursday in the Cardinals’ final regular season game would ensure them of a CIF playoff berth.
