Carpinteria’s girls basketball team won its final Frontier League game of the season on Thursday night by defeating Grace Brethren 59-33.
The Warriors (12-12, 5-7) finished fifth in league but are ranked No. 16 in Division 4A and hope for an at-large playoff berth.
“We expected to be higher but things just didn’t work out,” said Warriors head coach Dan Mercer.
Morgan Wallace recorded a team-high 12 points. Elena Schneider totaled 11 points, four assists and four steals. Erin Saito scored 12.
Grace Brethren was led by Ali Malinowski with 13 points.
The Warriors celebrated Senior Night honoring Lauren Tairi,
Bethany Lugo, Saito, Schneider and Amy Davis.
Carpinteria will learn its playoff fate when CIF brackets are released on Sunday.
