Santa Barbara High’s girls basketball team is in the CIF semifinals.
Ivette Gil scored 23 points and Dessy Coleman and Jada Howard added 12 apiece to lead the Dons to 66-47 win at Atascadero in a Division 3AA quarterfinal game on Wednesday night.
Santa Barbara, the No. 2-seeded team in the division, will stay on the road for the semifinals, traveling to Calabasas on Saturday.
The Dons (24-7) had the Greyhounds on their heels early with their up-tempo game and took an 18-8 lead in the first quarter. With Gil scoring 16 of her points in the first half, Santa Barbara led 43-20 at halftime.
They kept the pressure on in the second half and took a 51-30 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Amber Melgoza led the Dons in rebounding with 11 boards, while Coleman and Howard each grabbed six rebounds.
