Down 17 points in the second half, Calabasas dug deep and fought back to defeat visiting Santa Barbara on Saturday and advance to the championship game of the Division 3-AA CIF girls basketball playoff.
The Coyotes forced overtime, surviving a last-second miss by Santa Barbara at the end of regulation, and took the decision 72-66.
Calabasas trailed for the entire game, including a 50-33 deficit in the third quarter, before taking their first lead with five minutes remaining.
But Santa Barbara, which managed to score just six points in the fourth quarter, regained the advantage and led 61-58 going into the final minute.
Ivette Gil led Santa Barbara with 29 points.
