Carpinteria’s boys soccer team made its debut in the CIF Division 4 playoffs a memorable one as it defeated Santa Monica 1-0 on Friday at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.
Luis Cisneros scored the only goal after a pass from Ricky Arroyo. Arroyo served the ball in the box and the Santa Monica goalkeeper and defenders were unable to clear it. Cisneros took advantage and put the ball away.
Lalo Garcia made three big saves to record the shutout.
The Warriors improve to 12-4-3.
