Carpinteria’s boys soccer team prevailed 2-1 over Oaks Christian on Friday in a Tri-Valley League game at Carpinteria Valley Memorial Stadium.
The Warriors gave up a goal to the Lions in the 5th minute on a defensive breakdown.
Carpinteria head coach Leonardo Quintero was pleased to see Luis Cisneros answer with the equalizer just three minutes later.
Lalo Garcia came through with the game winner in the 60th minute. Angel Varela created the opportunity with a powerful shot from outside the 18 that bounced off the crossbar. Garcia was there to finish the rebound.
The result leave Carpinteria with a TVL record of 7-1-1 and 22 points. The Warriors close out their regular season on Wednesday at Santa Paula.
