San Marcos’ young wrestling team fell to a strong Buena squad 64-12 in a Channel League dual match on Wednesday.
The Royals, who fields of a team that includes five first-year wrestlers, picked up their only points on forfeited bouts.
“We are building for the future right now, and luckily we have a great group of kids to work with” said San Marcos coach Tony Becerra. “Buena has a very strong team and they have a good chance on winning the league title this year.
“We are going to take a lot of lumps this year but we plan on using the experience to build our program for the years to come.”
