St. Bonaventure held off Bishop Diego’s girls soccer team on Thursday, winning the Tri-Valley League game 2-1.
Amanda Garcia scored for the Cardinals in the second half, finishing a corner kick from Hanna Brand. The Seraphs took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break with two early scores.
“It was a fast game due to playing on turf and because of the wind. We struggled to finish our chances in the beginning but was proud of the girls for finishing strong,” reported Bishop Diego head coach Tessa Binkley.
The Cardinals travel to Santa Clara on Tuesday.
