Carpinteria’s girls soccer team dropped its Tri-Valley League opener on Friday in a 3-0 setback to La Reina.
“We often stalled in the offensive third and did not get off as many quality shots as we could have,” reported Warriors head coach Charles Bryant, who cited Alexa Benitez and Kylie Augerot with quality play in the midfield.
La Reina took a 1-0 lead in the first half. The Warriors pressed for the equalizer early in the second half but got caught on a counter attack to fall behind 2-0. Carpinteria didn’t relent but La Reina found another crack and added its third before the final whistle.
Carpinteria currently stands at 2-5-1 after today’s result.
