Hanna Brand and Bishop Diego’s girls soccer team were in the scoring spirit on Tuesday as Brand netted a hat trick in the Cardinals’ 5-4 win over Nordhoff.
Brand scored in the 19th, 28th and 59th minutes. The first two gave Bishop a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Eden Schmidt’s goal in the 61st minute proved to be the game winner.
“We had a great game. I would say the best so far this season,” reported Cardinals head coach Tess Binkley. “They were a great team but we were able to transition together, complete our passes and finish our chances. I hope we continue the season with the same attitudes and desire we did with this game.”
Erin Linehan recorded Bishop’s third goal soon after halftime.
Bishop Diego, with an overall record of 8-1-6, plays Fillmore in its next contest on Thursday.
