Santa Paula had too much for Carpinteria on Thursday night as the Cardinals defeated the Warriors 52-33 in a Frontier League girls basketball game.
The Warriors were down 24-11 at halftime but were able to cut the lead to eight early in the fourth quarter. Miranda Magana’s 17 points helped Santa Paula put the game out of reach.
Erin Saito’s 11 points was a team-high while Lesly Zapata collected nine points and nine rebounds. Morgan Wallace added seven points.
Santa Paula improves to 2-1 in league play while the Warriors fall to 1-3.
