Santa Barbara’s up-tempo game was too much for San Marcos, as the Dons ran away to a 68-18 Channel League girls basketball win on Thursday night.
Ivette Gil made 9 of 11 shots and finished with 22 points to lead Santa Barbara. Point guard Melissa Lemus scored 11 points and freshman Amber Melgoza added nine.
Santa Barbara (14-5, 2-1), led 46-6 at halftime and 60-9 after three quarters.
Hope Morrison led San Marcos (5-11, 0-3) with 11 points including three 3-point baskets.
The Dons will next play in the Public vs. Private School Showcase at St. Bernard’s High in Westchester on Saturday.
