Turnovers plagued Cate in a 48-32 non-league girls basketball loss at Valley Christian in Cerritos on Saturday.
“A four-point third quarter was our undoing as we continued to throw the ball around the court without a whole lot of purpose,” said Cate coach Jay Dorion. “Our effort was there from start to finish, so there were certainly some bright points, but with some big challenges coming in the form of Providence Hall and Thacher, we were hoping to begin building toward those league showdowns.”
Lanea Pearson led the Rams with 14 points and six rebounds. Erika Noble finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
