Sydney Hedges was a force inside, leading Providence Hall’s girls basketball team to a 53-35 non-league win over Orcutt Academy on Tuesday.
Hedges scored 16 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked eight shots in helping the Lions improve to 9-3 on the season.
Lacey Gonzalez chipped in 12 points.
The Lions held the Spartans to 11 points through three quarters and then sat Hedges and Gonzalez for the entire fourth quarter. They also played without starter Lizzy Beebe due to injury.
Providence Hall plays at Cate on Wednesday.
