Greer Shull’s 25 points were an important piece to Bishop Diego’s 47-45 Frontier League victory at La Reina on Thursday.
The Cardinals are now alone in first place with a 5-0 record.
Shull scored nine of her 25 in the fourth quarter. The two teams entered the final period in a tie.
“Our full-court pressure was the difference in the last few minutes,” said Cardinals head coach Jeff Burich.
Jordyn Lilly added 10 points and Madison Ballard-Rozok eight. Daisy Poindexter pulled down six rebounds.
Bishop Diego had to rally early on after La Reina jumped out to a 9-2 lead.
Bishop improves to 12-7 overall and plays Fillmore next on Tuesday.
