It’s down to a two-game season for a Tri-Valley League title for the Carpinteria boys soccer team.
The Warriors took care of business Wednesday, as Victor Saldana scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-2 win at Oak Park.
Meanwhile, Santa Paula suffered its first loss in league, falling to Oaks Christian at home 2-0.
The results leave the Warriors and Cardinals tied for first place at 6-1-1. Carpinteria plays host to Oaks Christian on Friday and travels to Santa Paula next Wednesday.
Carpinteria is seeking its third straight TVL title and first under coach Leo Quintero.
The Warriors jumped on Oak Park in the 13th minute, with Saldana scoring on a pass from Luca Rigonatti.
Angel Varela added the second goal 10 minutes later on a pass from Omar Vasquez.
Vasquez tallied the third goal on a penalty kick late in the first half. Brandon Landeros scored 15 minutes into the second half and Saldana finished the scoring for the Warriors (10-3-3 overall).
“Credit goes to our midfield for the distribution of opportunities and creation of play,” said Quintero.
