Santa Paula sent Carpinteria’s boys soccer team to its first loss of the Tri-Vallley League season on Friday in a 2-1 decision on the Warriors’ field.
Lalo Mejia gave the Warriors a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute but the Cardinals came back with two second half goals.
The game winner came in the 75th minute for Santa Paula.
Carpinteria (6-2-3) takes on Ventura on Monday in a non-league contest before resuming TVL play on Wednesday versus Fillmore.
