Dos Pueblos picked up its first win of the Channel League season on Monday, taking a 2-1 decision over Buena in a game that had been postponed from Thursday because of rain.
The Chargers scored first when freshman Manny Nwosu finished a feed from Omar Montalvo in the 35th minute.
But Buena was able to answer and quickly drew even before halftime.
“Our kids were a little down but they fought hard in the seocnd half, as did Buena,” said Dos Pueblos head coach Matt York.
Montalvo gave the Chargers their 2-1 advantage in the 57th minute.
York credited Forbes Bainou and freshman Jesse Jimenez for playing new roles superbly.
The Chargers (7-9-3, 1-3-1) play again on Tuesday at San Marcos.
