Lalo Garcia recorded his second straight shutout in goal for Carpinteria’s boys soccer team in a 2-0 victory over Malibu on Wednesday.
Warriors head coach Leonardo Quintero called Garcia the man of the match. Garcia recorded eight saves.
Genaro Hurtado scored the Warriors’ first goal on a set piece off the foot of Angel Varela.
Carpinteria held that 1-0 lead until the second half when Ruben Miranda converted a pass from Luis Cisneros into the Warriors’ second goal.
The Warriors are 5-1-2.
“Our team chemistry keeps increasing with each game and our end result follows right along,” Quintero said.
