Max Wankner scored 22 points for Cate’s boys basketball team in Wednesday’s 78-31 drubbing of Midland.
Wankner’s 22 was tops amongst 10 different Rams who scored. Ryan Baird added 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Midland’s Zak Dib led the Oaks with 17 points.
Cate dominated from the start, taking a 24-10 lead at the end of the first quarter. Wankner scored 10 of his 22 in the first period. The score was 41-17 at halftime.
It was the Condor League opener for Cate, which improves to 5-3 overall for the season. Cate travels to Dunn on Saturday for its next contest.
