In their second Tri-Valley meeting of the season, Santa Clara flipped the end result on Bishop Diego with a 56-44 win on Wednesday night.
The Cardinals had won the first meeting 56-52 in early January. Bishop Diego and Santa Clara are now tied for fourth place in league play with matching 2-4 records.
Bishop Diego held a one-point edge at halftime but a sluggish third quarter proved costly. Santa Clara outscored Bishop Diego 19-6 in third period.
“It looked like they came out with a little more energy than we did,” said Cardinals head coach Dean Prophet.
Caleb Richey scored 25 points to lead Bishop. Thomas Lash added eight and Grant Sexton seven.
Bishop Diego (12-9, 2-4) returns home for Friday’s TVL game against St. Bonaventure.
