Santa Barbara picked up its defensive intensity and snapped a two-game losing streak with 59-34 win over Ventura in a Channel League boys basketball game Friday night at J.R. Richards Gym.
“We played a fantastic game defensively and maintained our intensity and game plan the full 32 minutes,” said Dons assistant coach Andy Gil.
The win started the second round of league play. Santa Barbara is now 2-3 in league.
Emilio Gonzalez poured in 25 points and Jack Baker scored 20 points to pace the Dons.
Santa Barbara blew the game open in the third quarter when it allowed Ventura only four points.
