Lesly Zapata recorded a double-double with 21 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Carpinteria girls basketball team to a 49-25 win over Villanova Prep in the seventh-place game at the Bird Cage Classic on Saturday.
Carpinteria outscored the Wildcats 24-9 in the second half to blow the game open.
Amy Davids added six points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
Coach Dan Mercer said all eight players on the team scored.
Carpinteria is now 4-5 on the season.
