Marcus Hutchinson led Carpinteria’s boys basketball team with 10 points in Friday’s 38-36 victory over Santa Ynez at the Fillmore Tournament.
The Warriors will now play for the consolation championship on Saturday against Heritage Christian.
Duncan Gordon added eight points for Carpinteria (2-2).
“I will always say that I would rather take an ugly win over a pretty loss, and that’s exactly how it went tonight for us,” said Carpinteria head coach Johnny Ward.
