Natalie Saito’s goal almost stood up for Carpinteria’s girls soccer team on Wednesday but Thacher tied in the final minute to create a 1-1 draw.
Warriors goalkeeper Alyssa Freeman played a strong game with several big saves and it wasn’t until Thacher sent their whole team on attack that the Toads broke through.
“Overall the team played well in stretches of the game but will definitely need to be a little more consistent and assertive,” reported Warriors coach Charles Bryant.
Carpinteria is now 1-0-1 overall.
