San Marcos’ boys basketball team won its fourth straight game on Friday night, crushing Templeton 52-25 at the Coast Union Tournament.
Kevin Hempy led the way with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Paxton Ridgway did not take a shot in the game but made his presence felt with 6 assists, 7 rebounds and 2 steals. Jake Wheelock added 8 points and 10 rebounds.
“We did not play well tonight and the guys know it,” said Royals head coach Dave Odell. “We didn’t play our game tonight, we allowed our opposition to get us out of the good rhythm that we’ve been playing with. Hard to complain after a 27 point victory, but our effort wasn’t good enough.”
The Royals play two games on Saturday, starting with King City at 10:30 a.m.
