Dos Pueblos battled back from 1-0 deficit and defeated Oxnard 2-1 in a non-league girls soccer match on the road on Wednesday.
Trailing 1-0 after the 23rd minute, the Chargers stepped up their pressure and tied the score on a goal by Ady Willet in the 32nd minute. Willet beat the goalkeeper on a header off a corner kick.
Rachel Smith gave Oxnard’s defense problems all game long and scored the game winner.
The Chargers’ defense contained Oxnard in the second half. Shelby Hoffman, Emma Trumbull and Breanna Amble played well, said coach Pato Guerrero, who also cited Willet.
“The entire team played with the right intensity. I’m proud of them,” said Guerrero.
The Chargers improve to 7-1-3.
