Emily Allen’s breakaway goal in the second half was all San Marcos needed to put away Santa Ynez 1-0 in Wednesday’s non-league contest on the Royals’ field.
Allen gave San Marcos the lead in the 62nd minute.
San Marcos goalkeeper Hannah Harrah made two remarkable saves to keep the clean sheet intact.
It was the third game in three days for the Royals, who don’t play again until January 10th.
“We just battled through fatigue for the whole game,” said San Marcos head coach Macie Berlin.
