Erin Saito scored 18 points, and Carpinteria’s girls basketball team turned in a solid effort in beating Providence Hall, 36-27, in a non-league game on Friday.
“I’m proud of the girls; we’re starting to click,” said Carpinteria coach Dan Mercer, whose team will go into the holiday break with a 6-5 record and a three-game winning streak.
Providence Hall got as close as five points in the fourth quarter before the Warriors pulled away.
“There weren’t a lot of big stats,” Mercer said. “Ten girls played and all 10 played quality minutes.”
