Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team earned third place at the Avalon Tournament on Saturday by defeating Exeter 53-44.
The Cardinals were boosted by the tandem of Jordyn Lilly and Greer Shull. The duo scored all but two of Bishop’s points in the second half and finished with a combined 36 points in the game.
Lilly posted a team-high 19 points. Shull was named to the all-tournament team for the Cardinals.
Cardinals head coach Jeff Burich credited Daisy Poindexter with a great rebounding performance while Madison Ballard-Rozok shook off an injury to provide quality minutes.
Bishop Diego (7-7) returns to the court on Thursday for its Frontier League opener with Malibu.
