Santa Barbara High’s boys soccer team came out of a week-long, weather-imposed hiatus to knock off Moorpark 3-0 on Wednesday.
It was the Dons’ second 3-0 shutout of the season.
“For all that time off, the boys did really well tonight,” said Dons head coach Todd Heil.
Jason Ildefonso began the scoring in the 21st minute by turning a Peter Gamboa pass into an assist.
The Dons made it 2-0 early in the second half on a slick individual play by Pepe Barron, who carried the ball from midfield through the Moorpark defense and beat the keeper from the 18.
Alec Larson tacked on another goal in the 79th minute.
Ildefonso and Barron have scored in each of Santa Barbara’s first two games.
Up next for the Dons is Righetti on Friday at 1 p.m. as part of the San Marcos Invitational.
