Dos Pueblos defeated Santa Ynez 72-19 on Thursday to run its record to 1-1 at this week’s Gold Coast Girls Basketball Tournament.
The Chargers had four players score 10 or more points with Jocelin Petatan’s 15 leading the way. Brandy Jimmenez and Emi Parker posted 11 points each and Hallie Magee added 10.The Chargers, who face West Ranch on Friday at Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, fell to Rio Mesa in their tournament opener on Wednesday.
Dos Pueblos made a statement that Thursday’s game would be theirs by outscoring Santa Ynez 27-2 in the first quarter. The Chargers extended the lead to 46-10 at halftime.
The Chargers are now 3-2 on the season.
