The Carpinteria Derby between the boys soccer teams of Cate and Carpinteria High, originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon and then moved to Wednesday in order to preserve the Warriors’ wet playing surface, has been postponed a second time.
A new date has not been decided upon.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but it was moved back a day in order for the field to dry out from the recent rain.
The game will feature several of the top soccer players in the area. Cate’s offensive stars of Geoffrey Acheampong and Joshua Yaro will be going up against an experienced Carpinteria defense led by Genaro Hurtado. Cate, the two-time defending CIF champion, is ranked No. 1 in CIF Division 6.
Also rescheduled for Wednesday is Santa Barbara High’s boys soccer match against Moorpark. The game has been moved to Moorpark’s new turf field.
The girls soccer match between Carpinteria and Bishop Diego that was rained out last Friday has been rescheduled to Dec. 10 at Carpinteria.
