Dos Pueblos goalkeeper Nick Van Horn played a spectacular game in a 1-0 boys soccer loss at Santa Paula on Wednesday.
“He had a stellar dominant performance,” DP coach Matt York said of Van Horn, who made 14 saves and played the entire game with a knee injury.
Santa Paula’s goal came in the 56th minute on a through ball up the wing that was driven past the goalkeeper.
York praised the play of forward Lalo Arce, who provided “incredible energy” and forced several turnovers by the Santa Paula back line.
The Chargers (3-5-2) return to action on Dec. 27 at the Hart Tournament.
