Dos Pueblos’ Omar Montalvo scored four times on Friday to lead the Chargers’ boys soccer team to two wins at the Hart Tournament.
Dos Pueblos defeated Canyon 2-1 in the first game of the day, followed by a 2-0 shutout over Centennial Bakersfield later in the day.
Montalvo scored six goals in two days as the Chargers (6-6-2) went 3-1 in the tournament.
“He was a one-man wrecking ball this tournament,” said Chargers head coach Matt York, before adding, “We’re just finding a way to get it to his foot and he really turning on it.”
Another player drawing praise was defensive back Tucker Snider. The senior assisted on one of Montalvo’s goals and made an impact opening up the field by taking more opportunities to attack.
The Chargers defense allowed two goals in four tournament games.
Dos Pueblos’ next game is its Channel League opener vs. Buena on Tuesday.
