Santa Barbara High’s boys soccer team erupted for a season-high six goals in Saturday’s 6-1 victory over St. Francis.
Alec Larson scored twice while Jose Barron, Leo Adame, Adrian Rodriguez and Rusino Sanchez all scored once.
The Dons, who have played seven games in the past nine days, improve to 8-1 on the season with the result.
“The boys have really, really been plugging away,” said Dons head coach Todd Heil.
Jason Ildefonso and Brandon Sanchez provided assists on the first two goals as the Dons took a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Larson scored his first in the 50th minute. St. Francis trimmed the lead to 3-1 with a goal in the 57th minute. Larson put the Dons back up by three with his second in the 65th minute.
Santa Barbara will now get a much-deserved break until Thursday’s South Torrance Tournament opener vs. Culver City. Kickoff for that one is scheduled for 6 p.m.
