Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team lost a pair of games Saturday at the Mission Prep Tournament. The Cardinals fell to Moorpark 65-36 and then dropped a heartbreaking 33-30 decision to San Luis Obispo.
Bishop coach Jeff Burich said his team played its best game of the season against San Luis Obispo but came up on short end when a Tigers’ player hit a 3-pointer in the last minute of regulation.
Madison Ballard-Rozok scored eight points and Josie McCoy added seven in that game.
Bishop lost its first game of the day against Moorpark, 65-36. The Musketeers outscored the Cardinals 17-2 in the third quarter to pull away.
Greer Shull scored 12 points to lead the Cardinals (0-5), while McCoy tallied 10 points and Ballard-Rozok nine.
Bishop next plays Cabrillo on Wednesday in the Bird Cage Classic.
