Dos Pueblos has a big week in boys basketball.
On Wednesday, the Chargers host Righetti in their home opener. Righetti is considered one of the best teams in the area, and it boasts one of the top sophomores in the state in 6-6 Cameron Walker.
He’s already received offers from Fresno State, UC Irvine, Cal Poly and San Diego State, said his coach Kevin Barbarick.
The Warriors also have a slick point guard in senior Marcus McMorris.
Dos Pueblos will be facing the tallest team in the county. Besides Walker, Righetti has 6-8 Chris Barbarick (the coach’s son), 6-7 twins Aaron and Mathew Laflin and 6-5 Frankie Platero.
On Friday, Dos Pueblos plays Cabrillo at the UCSB Thunderdome at 7 p.m.
Cabrillo grad and current Kansas City Royals pitcher Danny Duffy set up the venue for the game.
“Mr. Duffy was looking for a way of giving back to his former school and community,” Dos Pueblos Athletic Director Dan Feldhaus said.
The teams will be having a pre-game meal together before heading to the Thunderdome.
Tickets for the game are $5 for general admission and $3 for students with a school ID card.
