Here are this year’s All-Channel League selections for football.

Co-League Champion Dos Pueblos swept the main two individual awards as running back Anthony Spiritosanto is the Offensive MVP and linebacker Nico Bornand is the Defensive MVP.

Spiritosanto scored six touchdowns in four league games and averaged 103 yards rushing in each contest. Against San Marcos, the senior totaled 186 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries.

Bornand, also an impact receiver and the best place kicker in the league, was a force at linebacker. His third-quarter interception and game-saving fourth-and-goal stop against Ventura helped the Chargers earn a co-league championship.

The coaching staffs at Dos Pueblos and Santa Barbara were named Co-Coaching Staffs of the Year.

The rest of the First Team selections, along with a Second Team and Honorable Mentions, are listed below.

Comments

  1. SBHSDons805 says

The dons held Spiritosanto to 38 yards rushing on 16 carries.
Nico Bordnand wasn’t a very effective linebacker that game either…

  2. SBHSDons805 says

Rudy corrales is easily more consistent than nico bordnand at inside backer, also Jordan Peña is easily better…look at the stats. As for offensive MVP Shawn Ramos and James Stevens were both better than Anthony Spiritosanto. They never were shut down by any defense in the channel league like Anthony Spiritosanto. And if you are arguing that consistency is an important factor Nolan soto only played one game in the league. So how is he ranked over all of the honorable mention outside backers that played the whole season? Hating on Santa Barbara.
